Truman Show delusion, also called Truman syndrome or Truman disorder, is a delusion in which a person believes their life is a staged reality show or that they are being watched on hidden cameras. The psychiatrist Joel Gold and the neurophilosopher Ian Gold, brothers, coined the term in 2008 on film boards, naming it after the 1998 film The Truman Show.
