Stasiphobia is the fear of standing or walking, sometimes called ambulophobia, in which a person experiences anxiety at the prospect of losing balance or falling while upright. It is frequently seen in older adults who have previously fallen, where fear of a further fall can itself increase the risk of one by making a person's gait more hesitant and unsteady.
