Self, Failure and Miscellaneous Phobias

A specific phobia centered on an aspect of the self, such as failure, aging, forgetting or an internal state, together with phobias whose feared object does not fit cleanly into this subcategory's other seven phobia groups. This group gathers the self-directed and miscellaneous phobias recorded under Psychology's Specific Phobias group, including fears of failure, imperfection, aging and forgetting, avoidance-driven fears around food, work and sleep, and a residue of phobias, such as an undirected dread of everything or a fear of fear itself, that name no single external object.
