Pornography Addiction

Pornography addiction is the scientifically controversial application of an addiction model to pornography use, considered by some a form of compulsive behavior with negative consequences for a person's physical, mental, social or financial well-being; the World Health Organization's ICD-11 recognizes compulsive sexual behavior disorder as an impulse-control disorder rather than an addiction, and the DSM-5 and DSM-5-TR do not classify compulsive pornography consumption as a mental disorder or behavioral addiction. Problematic internet pornography viewing, also called problematic pornography use, describes viewing that is problematic for personal or social reasons, including excessive time spent instead of interacting with others and facilitation of procrastination, with affected individuals reporting depression, social isolation, career loss, decreased productivity or financial consequences.
