Anomalous And Altered Experiences

A subjective experience that departs from a person's ordinary waking consciousness, sense of self or sense of reality, including altered states, dissociative experiences, and reports of phenomena such as near-death or out-of-body experiences that are not fully explained by ordinary sensory processing. This group gathers the anomalous and altered-state phenomena recorded for this atlas, treated here as documented psychological experiences with a recorded clinical or research literature, regardless of whether that literature treats their ultimate cause as physiological, psychological or unresolved.
