Batrachophobia is the fear of amphibians, particularly frogs and toads, producing a startle or avoidance response to their sight, touch or sound. It belongs to the same broad category of specific animal phobias as fears of reptiles or insects, and like those fears is considered disproportionate to the real danger most amphibian species pose.
