Fear of roller coasters, also known as veloxrotaphobia or informally as coaster-phobia, is an extreme fear of roller coasters, thought to originate from one or more of three factors: childhood trauma, fear of heights, or parental fears that rub off on their children. It may also be intensified by underlying fears such as claustrophobia.
