Scopophobia, also called scoptophobia or ophthalmophobia, is an anxiety disorder characterized by an excessive fear of being stared at in public or by others, and is also commonly associated with schizophrenia and other psychiatric disorders, often producing symptoms common to other anxiety disorders.
