Groups sources hosted directly on the website of the institution, laboratory or individual the source is about, rather than on a third-party encyclopedia, teaching site or journal: a research center's own team or profile page, a scholar's own faculty or personal site. An institutional page is the closest available account of what a living researcher or organization says about itself, and it is used chiefly to source a person's current role, affiliation or self-description rather than to source an established theory or finding, where an encyclopedia, educational reference or journal article source is preferred.
