Mycophobia is a fear or strong aversion to mushrooms and other fungi, distinct from an informed caution about toxic species. It can appear as a general reluctance to eat, touch or even look at fungi, and the term has also been used to describe a broader cultural distrust of wild mushroom foraging found in some societies, in contrast to mycophilic cultures that embrace it.
