Cibophobia

Clinical and Motivational Phenomena

Cibophobia is a general fear or aversion to food, marked by anxiety around eating that goes beyond ordinary pickiness. It can involve fear of a specific quality of food, such as its texture or the possibility of contamination, and in severe cases restricts a person's diet enough to affect nutrition. It is broader than, though related to, the narrower fear of trying new foods.
