Frank Parsons

Frank Parsons was an American professor, social reformer and public intellectual who is widely regarded as the father of the vocational guidance movement. Trained as an engineer at Cornell University, he later passed the Massachusetts bar and lectured at Boston University School of Law for more than a decade. His posthumously published book Choosing a Vocation (1911) introduced a talent-matching approach to career choice that proved profoundly influential among educators and became foundational to the entire vocational and counseling psychology profession.
