Gisli Gudjonsson

Gisli Hannes Gudjonsson is an Icelandic-British forensic psychologist and emeritus professor at King's College London's Institute of Psychiatry. He is recognized as an authority on suggestibility and false confessions, and he developed the Gudjonsson Suggestibility Scale to measure how susceptible a person is to interrogation pressure. His expert testimony contributed to overturning wrongful convictions in high-profile British cases including the Birmingham Six and the Guildford Four, and in 1982 he coined the term memory distrust syndrome to describe people who come to doubt their own recollections under questioning.
