Phyllis Tharenou

Phyllis Tharenou is an Australian organizational psychologist and management scholar whose research examines the career advancement of women, the effectiveness of training and development, and the international careers of professionals. An emerita professor who retired from full time academic executive roles in 2021, she spent more than four decades combining research, teaching, senior academic leadership and national research governance, and she is widely cited for her work on careers, gender and work, training and development, and the influences on managerial advancement. She served as acting vice-chancellor of Flinders University in mid 2019.
