Community Psychology

Groups the schools and movements that locate psychological explanation and intervention in social systems and community structure rather than in the individual case. Belongs here: Ecopsychology, which extends this to the relationship between mind and the natural environment, Liberation Psychology, which places social and political oppression at the center of psychological explanation, and Systems Psychology, which applies general systems theory to mind and behavior. A movement whose focus stays on one person's treatment despite social framing is filed under clinical psychology instead.
