Branch entities are the recognized subfields and specialty areas this atlas classifies its people, theories, schools and studies by, from the seven founding branches (clinical, cognitive, developmental, social, personality, behavioral, biological and neuro) through the wider set the field itself recognizes, cross checked against the American Psychological Association's own division structure. A branch is the classification axis itself, not a subject an entity discusses: a branch entity carries no page content of its own beyond its name and description, and every psychologist, theory, study and school in the atlas points back to one or more branches through its SubLabel. This band is where a reader browses psychology by its own internal specialization, distinct from Schools and Movements below, which groups the field's competing theoretical paradigms rather than its institutional subfields; a psychologist can work within one branch while belonging to a different school of thought entirely.
