Community Psychology

Groups the studies whose central finding concerns the mental health, wellbeing or social functioning of a whole community or population, rather than of individual clinical patients considered one at a time. Belongs here: the Midtown Manhattan Study, a large epidemiological survey that measured the prevalence of psychological symptoms and impairment across an entire urban population and helped shape the case for the American community mental health movement. A study of an individual patient's diagnosis or treatment is filed under clinical psychology instead.
