Hyperphantasia

Perception and Psychophysics Effects

Hyperphantasia is the condition of having extremely vivid mental imagery, the opposite of aphantasia, in which mental visual imagery is absent. The experience of hyperphantasia is more common than aphantasia and has been described as being as vivid as real seeing. It can involve all five senses within vivid mental imagery, although most research on the subject has focused on visual imagery rather than the other senses.
