Amina Memon

Amina Memon, born in 1961, is a social and cognitive psychologist, academic and author who is professor of psychology at Royal Holloway, University of London. Her work examines how cognition, emotion and social context affect memory and decision making in legal and forensic settings, aiming to help vulnerable eyewitnesses, including children, young adults, older people and people with autism spectrum disorder, give reliable accounts and receive appropriate treatment in court. She is credited with helping develop the 2003 guidance of the Scottish Executive on interviewing child witnesses and its 2005 code of practice for supporting child witnesses in court.
