Amy Cuddy

Amy Joy Casselberry Cuddy is an American social psychologist, author and speaker who has held faculty positions at Rutgers University, the Kellogg School of Management and Harvard Business School. She is best known as a proponent of power posing, a self-improvement technique claiming that holding an expansive body posture can shift a person's hormones and confidence, a claim whose scientific validity has since been questioned after later studies failed to replicate the original findings. Her most cited academic work uses the stereotype content model to explain how people think about stereotyped individuals and groups.
