Sergei Rubinstein

Sergei Rubinstein was a Soviet psychologist and philosopher, one of the founders of the Marxist tradition in Soviet psychology and a pioneer of the distinct activity approach that shaped Soviet and, later, international psychology. His work treated psychological processes as inseparable from a person's practical, purposeful activity in the world, an approach that Alexei Leontev subsequently advocated for and helped popularize.
