Zing-Yang Kuo

Zing-Yang Kuo was a Chinese experimental and physiological psychologist and educator, known internationally for his forceful arguments against instinct theory in the study of animal and human behavior, a stance that earned him the nickname of out-Watsoning Watson within the anti-instinct movement of early twentieth century psychology. He also served as president of Zhejiang University, a position from which he was expelled by student protest in 1935.
