Reflexology (Russian Psychology)

Reflexology, also called objective psychology, is a school of Russian psychology founded by Vladimir Bekhterev, who established the first experimental psychology laboratory in Russia in 1886 and set out the approach in his 1907 work Objective Psychology. It holds that all human and animal behavior can be explained through the objective, physiological study of reflexes rather than through introspection of subjective mental states, examining the relationship between environmental stimuli and observable overt behavior. Reflexology developed alongside Ivan Pavlov's classical conditioning research and is considered a direct forerunner of Western behaviorism.
