Albert Bandura (1925-2021) was a Canadian-American psychologist known as the originator of social learning theory, social cognitive theory, and the construct of self-efficacy. He was responsible for the influential Bobo doll experiment (1961), demonstrating observational learning. A 2002 survey ranked him the fourth most frequently cited psychologist of all time, behind Skinner, Freud and Piaget, and he was widely described as the greatest living psychologist during his lifetime.
