Human Experimental Psychology

Groups the branches built on laboratory study of ordinary and anomalous human mental processes: Experimental Psychology applies controlled experimental method to perception, learning and cognition broadly, Psychophysics measures the precise relationship between physical stimuli and the sensations they produce, and Anomalistic Psychology and Parapsychology apply that same experimental method to purportedly paranormal claims, most often to explain them through ordinary psychological processes. A branch defined by a clinical, social or developmental question rather than a laboratory method belongs elsewhere.
