John Terrence Cacioppo was the Tiffany and Margaret Blake Distinguished Service Professor at the University of Chicago. He founded the University of Chicago Center for Cognitive and Social Neuroscience and co-founded the field of social neuroscience, holding appointments in the department of psychology and the department of psychiatry and behavioral neuroscience until his death in March 2018.
