All Schools and Movements

Groups the organized schools and movements of psychological thought, such as behaviorism's therapeutic offshoots and the successive generations of psychoanalytic theory, subdivided by the branch of psychology each is principally associated with. A school is a coherent, named intellectual tradition with its own adherents and methods, not merely a single theory, which is why it is tracked as its own type rather than folded into theories and concepts. It deliberately excludes an individual theory a school originated, filed under theories and concepts, and an individual psychologist associated with the school, filed under psychologists instead.
